David Duerkop
David was drawn to yoga as an antidote to his hectic days at the Chicago Board of Trade. He quickly became fascinated by the depth of yoga and humbled by the valuable lessons his practice often provided. Teaching to others became a natural extension of his own yoga practice. David's teacher training began with Baron Baptiste and has since gone on to include yogaview trainings as well as a Bhakti Flow training with Rusty Wells. He leads weekly meditation services at The Midwest Buddhist Temple and meditation studies continue to enhance his yoga teaching. In David's classes, conscious movement and breath merge to create a balance between active engagement and letting go. David lives in Chicago with his favorite yogini Rachel and their dog Libby.
